Mite B Coaches Corner
Mite B Team Wins The GBYHL
Season And League Championship
With a 16-2-1 season,
scoring 164 goals and only allowing 34 goals
against, the Mite B team won the GBYHL season
advancing them to the league's McLaughlin
Tournament. In the semi-final against Dorchester B,
the Mite B's, with an amazing team effort, came back
from a 2-0 deficit in the first period to tie the
game up 4-4 by the end of the third period. In a
dramatic double overtime, Alexander Arno scored with
2 minutes left in the second overtime to win the
game 5-4, advancing the Comets to the finals. The
Comets won the league championship final game
against South Boston B in a 7-0 shut out, with great
goal tending provided by Jack Dempsey.

Mite B Team Wins Falmouth Tournament
The Mite B team won the
Kevin P. Williamson Memorial Tournament, held
February 22-24 at the Falmouth Ice Arena on Cape
Cod. The tournament was played to honor the memory
of Kevin Williamson, a Falmouth youth hockey player
who passed away following his battle with cystic
fibrosis. The Comets advanced to the championship
game with consecutive victories over Marshfield
(12-0), Walpole (4-2), and the host Falmouth
Clippers (8-3). Saving their best game of the
tournament for last, the Comets defeated a tough
Walpole team 5-1 in the championship game. The
mother of Kevin Williamson was on hand to present
the winning trophies to the Comet players and
coaches. Congratulations to the Mite B team!
