2026-2027 Comets Goaltending Development Program
Our Goaltending Development Program provides a centralized, convenient, and practical training program that focuses on development from the ground up. Instead of adding another obligation to the already full plate of the modern youth goaltender, we’ve created a program that brings goalie training to each age group. Goalie coaches will be present at each age group’s skills practices so that goaltenders are receiving an equal opportunity to develop. Each goaltender will have the opportunity to work with the goalie coach throughout the following practices and bring what they learned to their team practices. In addition to these weekly and biweekly skills sessions, the Friday night development “flex ice” allows goalie coaches another opportunity to provide more individualized training per individual request.
Meet Our Goalie Coaches!
Coach Bean Clark
Bean Joins the Comets after 7 seasons of coaching making stops at the youth, preparatory school, junior, and collegiate levels. She currently coaches at the University of Massachusetts Boston where she serves as the goalie coach and recruiting coordinator for the NCAA women’s team. In addition to UMass, Bean is the USA Hockey Goaltending Development Coordinator for the Girls’ New England District where she oversees goaltender evaluations for national camps and coordinates staffing and goaltender development for the district camps.
As Director of Goalie Development, Bean is excited to work alongside Coach Adam Vickery and Coach Jason Christlieb to elevate the Comets goaltending development through careful practice planning, coach collaboration, and drill construction that centers on goaltender development from the 8U through 18U levels. Bean will be working closely with our female goaltenders and boys 12U-14U goaltenders.
Coach Adam Vickery “Vick”
Coach Vick has been involved in Natick Hockey for several years and has substantial youth hockey coaching experience coaching from the crease and on the bench. Vick has coached for 10 years for the Comets from house league up to midgets and started the Comets goalie development program in 2021 running weekly goalie clinics and attending team practices when requested. Vick’s calm and patient demeanor in addition to his background in education allows him to connect with each goaltender effectively by breaking down the position into three areas of focus: efficient skating, proper angles, and controlled movement. When not at the rink, Coach Vick works as a special education teacher. Coach Vick’s son, Michael “Mick”, has been a standout goaltender for the Comets and Natick High School.
Coach Jason Christlieb
We’re thrilled to welcome back Coach Jason Christlieb to the Comets family for another Natick Comets season. A native of Natick and former Natick High School Hockey goaltender, Jason is excited to be back where it all began helping young goalies develop.
